Issued from « Touhou Project« , Marisa is the second nendo (first was Reimu) inspired from this license.

An actively exploited license by a large number of figures editors this time. Indeed, when you look closer to online shops, you find an infinity of Marisa, Reimu and other characters from the game under different aspects (Plushes, figures, goodies, figmas, nendos…..)

Issue du jeu « Touhou Project« , Marisa est la 2ème nendo (la première fut Reimu) provenant de cette Licence.

Une licence exploitée activement par un grand nombre d’éditeur de figurines en ce moment. En effet, si l’on observe attentivement les sites de vente, on trouve une quantité infinie de Marisa, Reimu et autres personnages provenant de ce jeu et ce, sous différents aspects (Plush, figurines, goodies, figmas, nendos…..)

At first, i didn’t know anything about « Touhou Project. I got interested a bit when i saw a lot of figures representing Reimu appearing, character i liked immediately. But as you know i’m not a gamer, so what’s kept me busy was to search all the different characters from all the games because the chara-design is interesting. And there’s many i have to say, around fifty.
GSC and others found here a great vein!
Note that among all characters, 3 only are mens.

A la base, je ne connaissais pas du tout « Touhou Project ». Je m’y suis un peu intéressée lorsque j’ai vu apparaitre plein de figurines à l’effigie de Reimu, personnage qui m’a plu d’emblée. Mais comme vous le savez, je ne suis pas une gameuse, donc ce qui m’a surtout préoccupé c’est la recherche des différents personnages apparaissant dans les divers opus de ce jeu car je trouve le chara-design intéressant.  Et ils sont assez nombreux je dois dire, environs une cinquantaine.
GSC et les autres ont trouvé là un super filon!
A noter que parmi tous ces personnages, 3 seulement sont masculins.

	Reimu Hakurei : This is an important character in the Touhou series. She’s one of the few who’s appeared in every Touhou game. Personnage important dans la série des Touhou. C’est l’une des seules à apparaître dans tous les jeux Touhou.
	Marisa Kirisame : Marisa is also an important character in the Touhou series. She lives in the Forest of Magic. Marisa est également un personnage important dans la série des Touhou. Elle vit dans la forêt magique.
	Sanae Kochiya : Sanae Kochiya (or Kotiya) is the Stage 5 boss of Touhou 10 – Mountain of Faith. She can make miracles occur with her power. Sanae (ou Kotiya) est le boss du niveau 5 de Touhou 10 – Mountain of Faith. Ses pouvoirs peuvent créer des miracles.
	Cirno : One of the many characters in the Touhou Project, she is an ice fairy with a childish personality. C’est une fée des glaces avec une personnalité enfantine
	Hong Meiling : One of the many characters in the Touhou Project, she is a Youkai and the guardian of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. C’est une Youkai and la gardienne de la Scarlet Devil Mansion.
	Iku Nagae : Iku is a playable character in Touhou 10.5 – Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. Iku est un personnage jouable dans Touhou 10.5 – Scarlet Weather Rhapsody.
	Komachi Onozuka : The subordinate of Sikieiki Yamaxanadu. A slacker shinigami who is tasked with bringing spirits to Sikieiki for their final judgment. La subordonnée de Sikieiki Yamaxanadu. Un shinigami paresseux dont la tâche est d’apporter les esprits au Sikieiki pour leur jugement final.
	Aya Shameimaru : A crow tengu who authors a newspaper in Gensokyo. She often brags that she is the fastest thing around. Une tengu criarde qui tient un journal a Gensokyo. Elle se vante souvent d’être ce qu’il y a de plus rapide aux alentours.
	Patchouli Knowledge : One of the many characters in the Touhou Project, she is an anemic witch who can control many powerful magics. Une fille anémique qui peut contrôler de nombreuses magie puissante.
	Ran Yakumo :  She is a Kitsune and the Shikigami of Yukari Yakumo. C’est une kitsune et la Shikigama de Yukari Yakumo.
	Alice Margatroid :  She is an adept magician who is known for her skillful use of dolls. C’est une adepte de la magie qui est connue pour son habileté dans l’utilisation de poupée.
	Reisen Udongein Inaba : She is one of the legendary lunar rabbits that possesses lunacy-inducing eyes. Elle est l’une des légendaires lapines lunaires qui possède les yeux lunaire-incitant.
	Reiuji Utsuho : Reiuji is the Stage 6 boss of Touhou 11 – Subterranean Animism. She a raven and a regulator of flames in the former Hell of Blazing Fires. Reiuji est la boss du niveau 6 de Touhou 11 – Subterranean Animism. C’est un corbeau régulateur des flammes de l’enfer de Blazing Fires.
	Remilia Scarlet : She is a vampire and the mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. C’est une vampire et la maîtresse de la Scarlet Devil Mansion.
	Sakuya Izayoi : She is a human maid who is skilled with knives and has the power to control time and space. Une femme de ménage douée avec les couteaux et qui a le pouvoir de contrôler le temps et l’espace.
	Chen : She is a Nekomata and the guardian of Ran Yakumo. C’est une Nekimata and la gardienne de Ran Yakumo.
	Suika Ibuki : The main antagonist of Immaterial and Missing Power, who fights with explosives and her ability to manipulate density. One of the few Oni in Gensokyo. La principale antagoniste de « Immaterial and Missing Power », qui combat à l’aide d’explosif and son aptitude à manipuler la densité. L’une des seules Oni dans Gensokyo.
	Suwako Moriya : Suwako is the extra boss in Touhou 10 – Mountains of Faith. She is a god of the Moriya shrine. Suwako est le boss supplémentaire de Touhou 10 - Mountain of Faith. Elle est une déesse du sanctuaire Moriya.
	Tenshi Hinanai : The main antagonist of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. An obnoxious celestial with the ability to cause (and prevent) earthquakes. La principale antagoniste de « Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. Un odieux céleste qui a la capacité de causer (et prévenir) les tremblements de terre.
	Youmu Konpaku : She is a half-human half-ghost who is skilled in swordsmanship. Elle est mi-humaine et mi-fantôme qui est douée dans le combat au sabres.
	Yukari Yakumo : She is a Youkai who is older than the history of Gensokyo itself. C’est une youkai plus vielle que l’histoire même de Gensokyo.
	Yuyuko Saigyouji : She is the « Ghost Princess » of Hakugyokurou, the Netherworld of the « formerly-living ». Elle est la « Princesse Fantôme » de Hakugyokurou, le monde éthéré des « ancien-vivant »

Marisa, just like Reimu, is an exclusivity again (it really gets boring all those exclusivity! ) and there’s big chances all nendos inspired from this license will be too since Sanae and Sakuya weren’t spared.

Revenons-en enfin à notre petite nendo.

Marisa, tout comme Reimu, est à nouveau une exclusivité (ça devient vraiment ennuyeux toutes ces exclus! )
et il y a de grandes chances que toutes les nendos issues de cette licence le soient également puisque Sanae et Sakuya n’y ont pas réchappé.

Let’s talk about quality / Parlons qualité

Unlike Reimu who was an average quality due to lose joints (body and arms notably who don’t stand correctly), GSC corrected their behavior by giving a much better worked Marisa.

Only 2 faces are shipped along. Ma favorite is the one where she has this mocking smile. You also have the big witch hat and 2 pairs of arms where each right hand is intended to hold either her broomstick or her mini-HAKKERO*

Contrairement à Reimu qui était de qualité moyenne à cause des emboitements trop lâches (le corps et les jambes notamment qui ne tiennent pas correctement ensemble), GSC a rectifié le tir en nous offrant une Marisa de meilleure facture.

Elle nous est livrée avec seulement 2 visages différents. Mon favori étant celui ou elle fait son sourire narquois. On trouve aussi le grand chapeau de sorcière et 2 paires de bras supplémentaires dont chaque main droite est prévue pour tenir soit son balais soit son mini-HAKKERO*.

What’s a Hakkero? / Qu’est ce qu’un Hakkero?

The hakkero symbolized by eight trigram reactors or elementary Reactor is a magic artifact. The one owned by Marisa was gave to her by Rinnosuke Morichika in « Touhou Kourindou ~ Curiosities of Lotus Asia ». Her hakkero is made of wood and are shaped like a octagonal block, with the eight trigrams printed in a circle on it’s front. Despite it’s small size (it holds in a hand easily), it’s a powerful source of magical power and Marisa use it to fuel her master Spark.

I think i already heard about a Hakkero in Dragon Ball, right ?????

Le Hakkero symbolisé par huit réacteurs trigrammes ou réacteurs élémentaire est un artefact magique. Celui possédé par Marisa lui a été remis par Rinnosuke Morichika dans l’opus « Touhou Kourindou ~ Curiosities of Lotus Asia ». Son Hakkero est fait de bois et prend la forme d’un bloc de forme octogonale, avec les huit trigrammes imprimée dans un cercle sur son front. Malgré sa petite taille (il tient facilement dans la main), c’est une puissante source d’énergie magique, et Marisa l’utilise pour alimenter son Maître Spark.

Il me semble déjà avoir entendu parler d’Hakkero dans dragon ball, non???

Sculpting of hairs and hat is to my opinion the strong point of this nendo. I think they’re particularly well designed and finished, just as the nendo itself actually
Painting is globally very beautiful and i give her a small plus for the hat node pink shadows.

But what i mainly enjoy on this nendos series from Touhou, is that GSC took care to decorate their bases. On Reimu’s base we had Ying and Yang symbols and on Marisa’s base, you find the same trigrams you see on her hakkero but the background is white.

Le sculpte des cheveux et du chapeau est à mon avis le point fort de cette nendos. Je les trouve particulièrement bien travaillés et finis, comme le reste de la nendo d’ailleurs.
La peinture est très jolie dans son ensemble, et je lui accorde un petit + pour l’ombrage rosé du nœud du chapeau.

Mais ce que j’apprécie surtout dans cette série de nendos de Touhou, c’est le fait que GSC a pris la peine de décorer les socles. Sur celui de Reimu nous avions le symbole du Ying et du Yang, et sur celui de Marisa, on retrouve les même trigammes que sur son hakkero mais sur un fond blanc.

Conclusion

Nothing wrong to say on this totally adorable nendo despite her exclusivity who’re going to transform her into a searched product and sold like gold.
